Connecticut operates two of the largest casinos in North America. Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, and Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, operated by the Mohegan Tribe, are both massive resort complexes with multiple casino floors, thousands of hotel rooms, arena venues, and extensive dining. The state legalized online casino gambling and sports betting in 2021, launching both in October of that year.

Connecticut's online market is tied directly to the two tribes. DraftKings operates as the digital partner for Foxwoods, and FanDuel partners with Mohegan Sun. A third license went to the Connecticut Lottery for a retail sports betting operation. The online casino market allows residents to play slots and table games for real money through licensed apps, making Connecticut one of a small group of states with full legal online gambling.

For residents, the practical options are strong. You are almost certainly within 90 minutes of either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun anywhere in the state. Mobile sports betting and online casino gambling are both fully legal. Connecticut is one of the more permissive gambling states in the country, offering a complete legal framework for both physical and digital play.

Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are among the largest casinos in North America. Online casino and sports betting legal since 2021.
