Massachusetts' age of consent is 16. There is no formal close-in-age exemption in state law, but Massachusetts criminal statutes differentiate penalties based on the age of both parties. Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 265, Section 23 covers rape and abuse of a child.

Massachusetts has no statewide sex education mandate. When districts choose to offer it, state guidelines call for comprehensive, medically accurate instruction inclusive of LGBTQ+ topics. The guidelines are strong but not legally binding in the same way as a mandate. Boston Public Schools and most urban districts follow a comprehensive model. Rural districts have more variation.

Massachusetts' adult entertainment environment is permissive. Boston has an established adult entertainment industry, and the state has no unusual restrictions on adult businesses beyond standard licensing and zoning. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has consistently applied robust First Amendment protections to adult businesses and performances. Nudity in licensed establishments is permitted under specific conditions.

No mandate but guidelines are comprehensive and inclusive. Very liberal approach when offered.
