Wyoming took a practical approach to sports betting in 2021: it authorized mobile-only sports betting without requiring any physical casino infrastructure. Since there are no commercial casinos and the only gambling facilities are tribal casinos on the Wind River Reservation, attaching sports betting to a physical location would have limited its reach to most of the state. The mobile-first model launched in September 2021, and national operators including DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM are licensed.

There is no state lottery in Wyoming. The state is one of a small number without one. The Wind River Reservation casinos, operated by the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes, provide limited casino gambling in a remote location in the central part of the state. Charitable gambling in the form of bingo and pull-tabs is permitted.

For residents, sports betting from your phone is fully functional — that is genuinely the main legal gambling option available statewide. There is no lottery at the gas station, no casino in Cheyenne or Casper, no poker room in Jackson Hole. The combination of no lottery, no commercial casino, and tribal gaming limited to the Wind River Reservation makes Wyoming one of the most minimal gambling environments among states that have legalized sports betting. If you want anything beyond sports betting, you are crossing into Colorado, South Dakota, or Montana.
